Bible Translations
The translators should remember that God, who inspired the bible in Hebrew and Greek, also created these languages, either in Eden or at Babel. Therefore it is no accident that God used the expressions that He did, as when He created the languages of Hebrew and Greek, He created them for the purpose of containing His word. Therefore that we in English have an alternative way of saying something, does not necessarily justify the translators using this alternative way, as meaning may be lost. (1,300 words)
Inspiration and Scripture
Although Scripture is inspired by God and infallible, copying, translating, and determining Scripture is subject to human error. It is therefore possible for the Scriptures to be contaminated by the wisdom of man, and it seems as though this has happened in some places. There is a warning attached to adding to the Scriptures, at the end of the book of Revelation, but no promise that the warning will be heeded.
In particular, it seems that the warnings given by Christ to the few, have been misapplied to the many. (3,300 words)
Truth and Error
To understand the truth we must be obedient as spiritual blindness is promised to the disobedient. Christ taught to interpret a Scripture in the light of other Scriptures rather than superficially. He also taught the importance, when interpreting Scripture, of understanding the purpose of that Scripture. He also taught the importance of using common sense when interpreting Scripture. We must beware of false prophets, whom we may recognise by their fruits, especially their love of money. (1,800 words)
