When Christ was accused of blaspheming, because of his claim to be the Son of God, he replied: is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods? (John 10:34) This is not, as may be supposed, an accusation of pride, but a hidden mystery. A true Jew is not only baptised with the Spirit, as commonly came upon the greater church beginning at Pentecost, but his spirit is partially the Spirit of Christ. Jesus affirmed that this was to be taken literally, by saying: the Scripture cannot be broken, of God's words: I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most high. (Psalm 82:6)
Why then is Jesus termed, the only begotten, or the one and only, son. It is because Jesus' Spirit is fully divine, with no element of his Spirit created. Other sons have spirits composed partially of the Spirit of Christ, and partially created.
It was said of John the Baptist: he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb. (Luke 1:15) John the Baptist’s spirit is half divine, and that half of his spirit which is not divine but created, moulded itself to conformity with that portion which was of God.
Not only John the Baptist, but ten million other Jews have Spirits composed of between half and one twentieth, the Spirit of God. Only a few, sixty, have spirits half comprised of Christ’s Spirit. Seven hundred and twenty have spirits one quarter comprised of the Spirit of Christ. One hundred and forty-four thousand have spirits one seventh comprised of the Spirit of God. And ten million have spirits, one twentieth comprised of the Spirit of God.
By genealogy a true Jew is half angel, and angels also are partially comprised of the Spirit of God, in the same numbers and composition as the Jews. Now one day the Jews will marry the angels, and, with Christ, shall reign over the church. Now not all children of the angels are Jews; some may also be of other nationality.
When did this begin, the sons of God, descending to the earth? It is written: the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. (Gen 6:2) And so we learn that angels contain the Spirit of Christ. And when this Spirit was inherited by their children, they were mighty.
This explains the intelligence of the Jews, if we take it that perhaps Shem, the ancestor of Abraham, married a daughter of God. But the inheritance of angelic and godly disposition is not to all the descendents of Abraham, but chiefly to those of the tribe of Judah, and then even not to all of these. In the same way as that not all the children of Abraham, are true children (Rom 9:7), not all the children of Judah, are true Jews (Rom 2:29).
This is why, concerning the dwelling place of God (the temple of Jerusalem, with application also to the New Jerusalem,): he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. (Psalm 78:67,68) And also: it is evident, that our Lord sprang out of Juda. (Hebrews 7:14)
Jesus spoke to his disciples two thousand years ago, of the Holy Spirit whom he said was upon them, and would be in them. They were not yet ready to understand the complete mystery, that from their birth, the Holy Ghost was integrated with them. But that portion of the Spirit of Christ which was in them, is somewhat dormant until their created spirit and body, is ready to accept that mould for which it was prepared. Then the Spirit of Christ within them turbocharges their created spirit to rule through their body, the purpose and life God has prepared for them. Character is not quenched when this happens, as the Spirit of Christ within them, their created spirit, and their body, all agree as to character. Sin for them, is a failure to live up to the virtues of their character, be it gentleness, strength, compassion, diligence or care. Christ within them sets them free to be all they were meant to be.
But it is not as though another were taking over, as from their birth Christ was part of them. And it is not as though all are the same, because that portion of the Spirit of Christ in one, differs in character from that portion in another. And gifts also differ.
They need no salvation experience to turn them from evil, as they are kind from birth. Life for them, and they are born several times, is a learning experience, in many and varied situations. Some lifetimes may be lived without belief, and other lifetimes with faith. But they are born sons and daughters.
But the doctrine is a little different for the church, comprised of all nations: Chinese, British and French and North American, Russian, Roman Catholic, Arab and Israeli (other than Jew) and African, and Indian, and which will total 864 million or six by 144 million, in glory. These, upon faith, shall be baptised with God’s Spirit. But the Spirit is upon them, not in them. These are adopted into God's family rather than being born into God's family: ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.(Rom 8:15)
When a Christian is born again, they receive the earnest of the Spirit, or the first installment. We know that the final hope is to receive a new body. And all Christians in the church have this hope, as do the Jews. But the those bodies will differ in glory as Paul wrote: one star differeth from another star in glory. (1 Cor 15:41)
To his twelve apostles, on the day of resurrection Jesus said: Receive ye the Holy Ghost (John 20:22), and that day the Spirit of Christ came upon them. Forty days later the Holy Spirit of the Father, interfused with this Spirit, came upon the disciples.
Then, on the Day of Pentecost, the Spirit of God, was poured out, not just upon the Jews, but upon all nations. Peter said what was written that: in the last days saith God . . . I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh. (Acts 2:17) Gifts of the Spirit then began.
But the fulness of the Spirit awaits the millennial reign of Christ. From the context of the Scripture that Peter quoted, the last days, when the Spirit of God shall be poured out upon all flesh, is the millennial reign of Christ. Then the nations shall be converted, until almost a billion true Christians, some of whom have previously only experienced the Spirit of Christ upon them at times, will soon after and permanently forever receive the Spirit of the Father upon them, in conformity to the Spirit of Christ.
Both true Jews, and Gentiles shall benefit when: the days come, saith the Lord, when God will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. God says: I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Jer 31:31-34)
